Accessing Our Data
The Malaysia Population Research Hub (MPRH) provides access to selected population, family and social development datasets for research, policy analysis and knowledge-sharing purposes.
Researchers, government agencies, academic institutions and eligible organisations may submit a data request through this platform. All applications will be reviewed to ensure that the intended use of data is appropriate, ethical and aligned with applicable data governance, privacy and confidentiality requirements.
Access to MPRH datasets is subject to approval by the relevant authority. Applicants are required to provide sufficient information on the purpose of the request, research scope, methodology and data protection measures before access can be considered.
Requirements Before Applying
1.Research Proposal
A concise proposal outlining the research title, background, objectives, scope, methodology, data requirements, expected outputs and the relevance of the requested data to the proposed study.
2.Application Letter
A formal application letter addressed to the Director-General of the National Population and Family Development Board (LPPKN), clearly stating the purpose of the data request, the specific dataset required and its intended use.
3.Institutional Letter of Support
An official letter from the applicant’s institution, organisation or agency confirming its support for the application and verifying the purpose, legitimacy and institutional affiliation of the proposed research.
4.Ethics Approval, if applicable
A copy of the approval issued by the relevant institutional research ethics committee. Ethics approval may be required for studies involving human participants, personal or sensitive information, or other research activities subject to ethical review.
Request Data Access
To request access to selected MPRH datasets, please complete the Data Services Request form and provide all required information. Incomplete applications may require further clarification and may take longer to process.
All approved users are expected to comply with data usage terms, confidentiality requirements and any conditions set by MPRH or LPPKN. Data obtained through this request shall only be used for the approved purpose and shall not be shared, transferred or published in a manner that may compromise privacy or confidentiality.
